My initial thought was to use a blue and brown color scheme just like I have in our current bedroom, shown here.
And I thought it would be fun to add in some red accents like this West Elm Duvet Cover which is currently on clearance.
So I loaded up Olioboard and began browsing through various components such as pillows, rugs and curtains when I spotted this curtain by Echo Design. I decided this would be a really fun jumping off point for the entire room. After all, I needed something to create a "GOOD MOOD" for this link up!

I echoed the red in the curtains with the West Elm square tuck duvet cover, an accent pillow, two armchairs in the sitting area and bedside lamps.
I also used the blue from the curtains in the large area rug that would rest under the bed and also a blue lamp in the sitting area. A dresser could easily be painted blue to bring out the blue in the curtains.
The yellow in the curtains can be found elsewhere in the room in the rug anchoring the sitting area, in accent pillows and in an upholstered bench at the foot of the bed.
I also like to bring in natural elements in the form of the woven storage ottoman in the sitting area as well as a picture frame on the dresser and a couple house plants.
I just love the idea of having a Master Bedroom large enough to accomodate a four poster bed and a small sitting area. I also like the idea of having a chandelier in my bedroom as well as using short dressers on either side of the bed rather than nightstands. I'd also love to have hardwood flooring with these gorgeous rugs anchoring the bed and sitting area. I'm especially in love with the yellow one from here.
So, tell me, what do you think of this design?
